I can't wait until:

My ass is comfortable on a bicycle seat.

My legs in workout pants do not resemble sausage in casings.

My fat pants fit and then are too big.

I get on the scale next month.

One weak down

Weak, not how I would normally describe myself.

Weak muscles. Weak willpower. Weak mind. Strong determination.

This week was tough. I did feel weak often. I KNOW I can get stronger.

I continue to go to the gym daily, log my food intake, shop for healthy meals. It is my JOB to get healthy.

I will not have many more weak weeks.

"And now we are going to do push ups."

Make that push UP.

One.

One single push up.

On the bright side, I know by the time I have reached my fitness goals I will look back and laugh at the ONE push up I was able to do during my first training session.

A new day

My weight is perfect...for a 6' 3" man.

I don't want to talk about what used to be or how it happened. No more excuses, no more "well a few years ago I ....."

I have a lot of work to do. Many changes to make. And a brand spanking new PERSONAL TRAINER to help me do it. I don't think the trainer actually "spanks" but I am not going to risk it.

I haven't been lounging on the couch for years. I hike the Incline occassionally with friends, take walks, run when the feeling strikes and not just when someone is chasing me.

The last 12 years have been dedicated to child birth and child rearing. It is time to spend some time and money i.e. Personal Trainer on myself.

I love saying that.

Him: Who was that on the phone?
Me: Oh, that was my personal trainer.

Him: What are you doing today?
Me: I'm meeting with my personal trainer.

Now let's get this clear. I haven't ACTUALLY MET with my personal trainer yet, but I will this morning.

We did speak on the phone.

Her: What goals do you have?
Me: I want to lose weight before my pool opens for the summer.
Her: How much weight do you want to lose?
Me: 35-40 pounds
Her: What parts of your body do you want to work on?
Me: Well, I like my calves.

The last time I was at my goal weight, I looked so smokin' hot we got pregnant for the third time. That won't happen again.

I hope to laugh, cry and track my progress all right here on the Blubber Blog. Let's cut the fat and get down to business.

Now what's for breakfast?
